Scouts, Scouts, Scouts

Ah, scout camp.  Nothing says summer quite like scout camp.  Right?

This year all three kids went to scout camp Gage went on a week long camp to bear lake.  He had a swim meet the last day of camp so I drove up the day before and picked him up.   I haven't been to Bear Lake in years and I took my Dad, Claire and Luke wit me and it turned into a little day trip that was actually quite fun!  When I got to camp I discovered from Gage's friends that Gage had gone into the lake with his cell phone in his pocket!  Such is the mind of a teenager!  Thankfully, we have not made the leap to a smartphone for Gage and flip phones are pretty much indestructible.  The thing turned on the next day and works like a charm!

They leave so clean

They come back so dirty!  Gage got so sunburned and dirt was just embedded in his skin.

Gage's scout master has a drone he took to camp.  The boys lived in the water.

Luke spent his time searching for rocks.  He came home with his pockets full

Claire wants to be a mermaid.  Hee hee!

Luke is a Webelo and he went to Webelo camp.  He loved camp!  They don't sleep over but they did a twilight camp so they went up late in the afternoon and came home around 10:00 p.m. The last night of camp I was waiting for him at the stake center and by 10:20 or so all of the cars were back excepts Luke's car.  I was starting to get worried until we found out that Luke's driver had lost his keys at camp and his wife was on her way to take him the keys.  Luke didn't get home until after 11:00 and he thought it was the greatest adventure of his life!  They had to hike to cell service.  The woods are wonderfully creepy by the moonlight and he got to pee in woods.  He was on cloud nine!

Claire has wanted to be a cub scout since the first pack meeting that we went to for Gage.  We always told her that she wouldn't be a scout but that she would have other activities to do with the girls. Kind of a jimp if you ask me, but what do you do?  Luckily, the Cub Scout Camps allow girls to come if they have their own leaders so our Activity Day girls get to be cub scouts once a year.  Luke was so worried that he would have to be with Claire at camp.  Thankfully the only time they were together was at the Stake Center when they got into the cars.  They went to totally different camps and all was well in the world again!

Claire came home absolutely covered in dirt!  She loved it
